We will ultimately be posting how to’s for all of the major important lifts like deadlifts, hang cleans, jerk, etc. so that you can start to do them from your own gym.
That said, some of the best strength exercises are those that are used as a compliment to the larger lifts. Often times lifting just 20 pounds as in each hand as accessory work can help you towards huge strength increases.
This is a favorite exercise of mine to target the hamstrings and glutes.
Some key technique cues.
- It does not matter if you elect to have your toes in a bent or flat position on the bench, whatever is most comfortable. For me, it is the flat position.
- Like a lunge, you want to make sure your lead knee is behind your lead toe. If when you squat, the toe drifts past the knee you need to stand more upright and take your foot out further.
- Keep the dumbbells by your side and do not let that sway forward.
This exercise has great carry over to deadlifts and other hamstring-heavy exercises.
In other news, I have purchased a juicer and have started to juice vegetables on the regular per the inspiration of a few P360 members. While I try very hard to incorporate enough greens into my diet I know I fall short of where I should truly be and through two days of juicing, I am hooked as a means to pound down some vegetables after a long day at P360.
I am in the process of gathering research and formulating what I think acceptable quantity should be, balance of vegetables to fruit, etc. but so far I am liking it. In fact, all day yesterday I felt a cold coming on (thanks P360 members who show up when they are sick) and after drinking 32 oz. of green drink last night I feel noticeably better today.
I’ll be putting together a detailed entry on juicing over the coming weeks, and not the Arnold kind.
In the meantime, please share your recipes and personal experiences if you have been on the juice.

Try a fist full of kale, 2 stalks celery, fist full of romaine, 1 peeled cucumber, 1 huge broccoli stem (eat the florets), 1 ripe pear (or apple). This is usually enough for 2 small mason jars. I’ve tried variations of the green juice and I almost always use kale and cucumber. Also beet, carrot and ginger is a really tasty combo (good for colds!) Sounds gross, but you can also take the pulp and send it back through the juicer for a little extra juice, but only do this once.
I like it, Maria! I’ve been going with the following since I started.
1/2 large cucumber
2 handfuls kale
1 large broccoli stem
3 carrots
1 beet
2 handfuls fresh spinach
How do I treat the ginger? Just put the whole root in or do I need to peel?
