I freaking love my job.  On a weekly basis I get to see folks achieve things that often times they’ve previously vocalized they would not be able to do (male deadlift of 400#, female doing full strict pull-ups, etc) and it absolutely makes my day when these folks not only do those thing, but blow past them as if they were a mere pot hole in the road.

Well, in this edition of me showing off my bad ass members we’re showing you four ladies that did some pretty outstanding stuff this week including a 285# deadlift, (2) 245# deadlifts and a three foot box jump.

Jennifer Bittner 36″ Box Jump

If you have never hopped up on something three to five feet tall, it can be a nerve wracking experience especially when the penalty for missing is not only dented pride but sometimes a bruised shin.  To see people overcome their fear of max height and hit an impressive box jump really gets me going.

(Some people get fired up by action movies, I get my kicks from box jumps…what can you do?)

Alex Vekich 245# Deadlift

When Alex first started as a client of mine, it was before I opened the gym and did not have a place of my own so I poached space in Mission Bay Park.  ”Heavy” equipment to her consisted of a 20# med ball, and when I opened the gym she was mortified that she’d be lifting weights.

But, like the incredibly faithful and loyal P360 member she has been for over a year and a half now, she followed, embraced it and is now kicking complete ass.  She has completely changed her body and her strength and physical capacity in the gym is better than a majority of men.

Her first deadlift at the gym was a 35# bar and this is Alex eight months later.

Jandy Vernon 245# Deadlift

Jandy has fully embraced the strength aspect of her training and even with a limited shoulder she has managed to accomplish some really impressive strength goals, shown here pulling the same weight as Alex in the same P360 class.

(Note: As I told Jandy after her pull, she was even limited by the closeness of her feet.  If she spread out another inch on both sides she would have been much more stronger mechanically and would not have rounded her back as much.  I don’t like when backs round like this and it’s never the goal.  If you are truly attempting a maximum effort pull, the reality is that it is bound to happen a small degree unless you are a truly, truly experienced lifter with at least fifty lifts at maximum weight under your belt.  To truly learn total body movement is not something that happens in a month or two, which is exactly why we shut it down after a max pull with the majority of people in as they work from intermediate to advanced.)

Elyse Paulson 285# Deadlift

Elyse is a machine and 300# – 315# is in her future before the month of February is over, I am completely certain of that and I would not be at all shocked if she was pulling 350# before the year is over.  Elyse holds six records at Performance360, shown here improving on her own female deadlift record.

These ladies are an example of many that are getting it done at Performance360, so just wanted to let you know that it’s recognized and we feel sorry for your boyfriends and husbands in a house argument.
